Clindamycin phosphate is a chemical semisynthetic derivative of clindamycin. It is a white or almost white crystalline powder at room temperature. It has no odor, bitter taste and moisture inducing properties. It has no antibacterial activity in vitro and can be rapidly hydrolyzed into clindamycin after entering the body to play pharmacological effects. Its mechanism of action, antibacterial spectrum, indications and therapeutic effect are the same as that of clindamycin, but its lipid solubility and permeability are better than that of clindamycin. It can be given orally, by intramuscular injection and by intravenous drip. It is mainly metabolized in the liver, excreted by bile and feces, and partially discharged from urine. Compared with lincomycin, clindamycin phosphate has 4 ~ 8 times stronger antibacterial activity, good absorption, high concentration of bone tissue, and strong antibacterial activity against gram-positive cocci and anaerobes.
