What is Minoxidil?
Minoxidil is a potassium channel opener that is often associated with reflex tachycardia and increased cardiac output in antihypertensive therapy. Selective vasodilation occurs in coronary arteries, and gastrointestinal and cerebrovascular vessels, but not in kidney and skin vessels. It can also reduce or stop hair loss and promote hair regeneration. Minoxidil is a common and effective drug for the treatment of alopecia, but its pharmacological action and its target cells are not very clear, recent studies have shown that minoxidil may promote hair growth in the following ways.
